New Directors (1 – 4 Years) of Special Education Leadership Institute 2017–2018

Achieving Balance:
Improving Educational Outcomes for Students with Disabilities While Assuring Compliance
Facilitated by ACCEPT Education Collaborative July 25, 25, 26, 27 TBD: September, November, January, March and May This no cost, nine-day intensive program serves as an induction program for new (1 – 4 years) special education directors. It provides directors with practical knowledge, skills, and practices to implement a responsive and compliant special education service delivery system that ensures positive outcomes for students in compliance with state and federal laws. The activities of the Institute, which include interactive professional development sessions, facilitated mentoring groups, 1:1 coaching, networking, outside projects, on-line materials, and a resource binder, are designed to help participants handle their complex roles, responsibilities and a myriad of daily challenges with greater confidence and competence. It also fosters the development of strong professional relationships that provide a much needed support network in the years to come. Eligibility and Applications: Special Education Directors with up to four years experience in a Massachusetts public, regional or charter school district are eligible to apply. Applications are due by May 15, 2017. Applicants will be notified by June 1, 2017. After the deadline, applications will be considered if space is available.
