Save the Dates for the Special Education Institute for Experienced Directors 2017-2018

WestEd, through a contract from MA Department of Secondary and Elementary Education, is again offering its annual, no cost, year-long Institute for directors of special education who are currently employed in a central office position in MA public school district, vocational school or charter school, with 5 or more years of special education administrative experience. Topics of critical interest to special education administrators will be addressed and may include leadership and systems change; data collection and analysis; program evaluation; stakeholder engagement; conflict management; cultural responsiveness; laws and regulations; and additional special topics depending on the interests of participants. Application information will be available at the end of April, and acceptances will be decided by the MA Department of Secondary and Elementary Education. Participants will be notified of acceptance to the Institute in June. The dates of the Institute are: July 25-26, 2017, August 15-16, 2017, October 18, 2017, February 6, 2018, and April 17-18, 2018. We are looking forward to meeting many of you and providing you the opportunity to engage together, learn from each other and the Institute faculty, and develop new collegial connections.
