The Richard B. Russell National School Lunch Act, as amended by the Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 (HHFKA), requires a unified accountability system designed to ensure that participating school food authorities (SFAs) comply with National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and School Breakfast Program (SBP) requirements. The Act also requires an accountability system that conducts Administrative Reviews to evaluate Program requirements for NSLP and SBP during a three-year cycle. The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Office for Food and Nutrition Programs has currently scheduled three in person trainings and one distance learning track to review the
Administrative Review Process
for districts
that are scheduled for a review during the 2017-2018 school year.
The purpose of this training is to address the program requirements of the Administrative Review process.
Please refer to the attached list below to see if your Local Educational Agency (LEA) is scheduled for a NSLP review during this school year.
Attendance by the School Nutrition Director and Business Manager is strongly recommended as this training will include
procurement
in addition to the Resource Management Comprehensive Review requirements.
In Person training scheduled from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Registration will begin at 8:30 am.

Procurement and Resource Management Comprehensive Review requirements
late morning and after lunch. We are unable to provide food and refreshments (except for water) during the training so feel free to bring your own snack(s), beverage(s) and lunch. Participants will also be given a one hour lunch break (on your own). Temperature conditions are beyond our control. Please come prepared with a light sweater or jacket if necessary.
Distance Learning Track scheduled from 2:30 pm -3:30 pm. Login will be available as early as 2:00 pm.

The registration deadline for all trainings is one week prior to the training date. Please register as soon as possible. Directions for each in person training can be found on the registration link. Participants in the distance learning track must register individually for each session that you plan to attend. Instructions on logging into the webinar system will be emailed one week prior to the training. We recommend you test your system in advance of the webinar to ensure access.
