The Second Annual Civics Literacy Conference - 2017

On May 8, 2017, the Department and the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the U.S. Senate hosted the second annual civics literacy conference, entitled Civic Engagement in a Connected World: Effective Practices for the Learners of Today and the Leaders of Tomorrow. The conference explored both the global and digital connections that make up the fabric of our lives in today's world. It focused, in particular, on what educators can do to support students in navigating the challenges and opportunities of this age of the digital revolution and global citizenship. Presenters included K-12 educators and representatives from state, education, and community organizations.
