The Department is pleased to introduce the Massachusetts Educator Licensure Series (MELS), which is a sequence of informational videos that streamline the educator licensure process for both current and aspiring Massachusetts educators. Currently, MELS consists of seven videos that provide an overview of teacher licensure in the Commonwealth, including obtaining a Provisional, Initial and Professional license as well as the process for out-of-state applicants. Whether you are a career changer, are currently employed as a teacher, or work in a district's central office supporting educators, the videos are sure to help clarify the process.
Eventually, the MELS videos will include topics such as how to use ELAR (online system), how to renew, and how to add a license and will include information about all types and categories of licenses and endorsements offered including administrators, professional support staff and Vocational. In total, MELS will consist of over 40 videos posted within the Department's YouTube channel. Please subscribe to the channel so that you can easily find new videos as they are posted and help us to obtain a custom link to the channel.
