Vocational Technical Education Curriculum Frameworks Validation by Program Advisory

Each school district with Chapter 74-approved vocational technical education programs has a program advisory committee for each approved program. The committees are required to meet twice per year. Usually one meeting takes place in the fall. We request that the facilitator of each committee include in the agenda for the fall meeting a review of the applicable framework and send the results to the Department of Education. The steps would be:

1. Each committee facilitator (usually a program teacher or supervisor) prepares a meeting agenda to include a review of the applicable framework and sends the agenda along with a copy of the applicable framework and "Program Advisory Committee Member Validation Form for a DRAFT Vocational Technical Education Curriculum Framework" to each member in advance of the meeting. Note that the frameworks are posted on the "frameworks web" at http://www.mccte.org/frameworks/. The validation form is enclosed and is available at http://www.doe.mass.edu/cte/frameworks.html.
2. Facilitator of each committee returns the completed forms to the Department (see below) as soon as possible after the committee members complete them. Note that each committee member should complete one form individually. Facilitator includes with the forms a completed Program Advisory Membership Form. The membership form is enclosed and is also available at http://www.doe.mass.edu/cte/frameworks.html. Note that this form should show all current members with their affiliation.
