Information about the January 2020 Special Education Directors' Regional Meetings

Thank you to all who provided feedback from our last round of DESE Regional Meetings. We have had a chance to review and incorporate the results into plans for the January sessions. These meetings are all being presented remotely to minimize travel and time away from your districts.

DESE is in the process of finalizing topics for the January meetings to ensure they are designed to have broad relevance to your district or school. This session will provide an opportunity for you to foster collaboration with your administrative team, team chairpersons, special education professionals, and school psychologists, etc. We encourage districts to gather staff from relevant roles together to view the virtual meeting all together in one place.

Please note, due to the remote nature of these sessions, we will be able to accommodate everyone at three sessions instead of the original five sessions. We ask that you use only one login per district.

At this time, we are cancelling the January 9th session. Due to a scheduling conflict, the January 16th session is now scheduled for 12:00–2:00 rather than the original 10:00–12:00.

January 16 , 17, and 22 will be the dedicated 3 sessions in January with January 27th being held as a snow date in the event one of the other three sessions is canceled.

Remember, these sessions are all exclusively remote so please plan to attend the session that is the most convenient date/time for you.

1. January 16, 2020 (12:00–2:00)

2. January 17, 2020 (12:00–2:00)

3. January 22, 2020 (12:00–2:00)

4. Snow date if needed, January 27, 2020 (9:30–11:30)

If you were planning to attend on January 9th or the 27th, please hold a different date to attend. However, Everyone, may also want to hold January 27th as a snow date in the event one of the other three sessions are canceled.

Registration forms will be circulated later, once topics have been finalized.
