Webinar today at 3 PM! DESE update: Special Education and COVID-19

Dear Special Education Leaders,

We are aware of the challenges you are facing regarding the outbreak of COVID-19, and we'd like to answer as many of your questions as possible. Please join me via Zoom at 3pm today if you are available. Please note that the maximum number of participants on our Zoom account is 500, so please consolidate participants from your LEA, collaborative or approved special education school so that as many people as possible can join this meeting. We will also have another call next week to accommodate those of you who cannot join us today and to continue to provide updates.

For immediate information, please see this FAQ from the US Department of Education that was released yesterday. It provides much of the information you need regarding student absences and school closures.
