Afterschool and Out-of-School Time (ASOST)

DESE Anticipates in Fiscal Year 2024-2025 (FY2025) a Combined Afterschool and Out-of-School Time (ASOST) & Summer Development & Expansion Grant Opportunity — State Funds (FY2025 & Beyond)

The Department anticipates combining the state ASOST 7061-9611 line item funding, pending continued appropriation, with summer 7061-9814 line item funding and release a new braided funding opportunity starting in FY2025 (Fund Codes still TBD). The competitive grant will likely be modeled after the ASOST-Rebound Subgrant Grant (see details below) and the Department anticipates funding several regional or state-wide non-profit entities with the ability to subgrant and provide wraparound support to ASOST providers.

We anticipate the funding opportunity will be available late Fall 2023 or early Winter 2024. More details will be posted here when available.

We anticipate that the subgrants that will be issued by the awarded entities will be available for ASOST programs — both non-profit community-based organizations and school districts — starting for summer 2024 and afterschool 2024-2025 programming.
