Save the Date - Workshop on Gender and Sexual Orientation in Career/Vocational Technical Education

Save the date for a workshop designed to help teams from high schools with career/vocational technical education programs create school environments where students are not limited by traditional gender roles. With the understanding that gender does not need to limit career choices, and equipped with resources to improve the school climate around sexual orientation, participants will have tools to support students to make career decisions that are not limited by gender, sexual orientation or perceived sexual orientation. The Career/Vocational Technical Education Unit is proud to sponsor three identical morning workshops on the dates and in the regions below. Our goal is for each high school with career/vocational technical education programs to be represented by a team. Dates/Locations: Thursday, November 30th - Southeastern MA Thursday, December 7th - Western MA Thursday, December 14th - Central MA For now, we ask that the principal of each high school with career/vocational technical education programs email us at jcuevas@doe.mass.edu with the name of a single contact person from the high school who will later register a team of participants from the school. Funding for the workshops is provided by the Carl D. Perkins Vocational & Technical Education Act P. L. 105-332
