The Department has moved to 135 Santilli Highway in Everett. The Department's office and Licensure Welcome Center are open. The new location has free parking and is a short walk from the Wellington station on the MBTA's Orange Line.

Announcement Regarding Fund Codes 274 and 249

We are pleased to announce that the FY09 Special Education: Program Improvement Grants – Fund Codes 274 and 249 will soon be available to schools districts, educational collaboratives and approved private special education schools. This will be the final year for both grant programs and due to limited federal discretionary funds, the amounts available have been reduced from FY08. We anticipate having the RFPs and funding information finalized and posted by the end of August. Please note, the deadline for submitting proposals has been extended until December 19, 2008. The Department will be exploring regional approaches to professional development as we move forward.
