Student Assessment Services Unit Seeking Teachers and Program Advisory Committee Members to Serve as Subject Matter Experts for the Certificate of Occupational Proficiency Initiative
As a part of the development of the Certificate of Occupational Proficiency, the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education - Student Assessment Services Unit is seeking teachers and program advisory committee members to serve as subject matter experts for each of the Vocational Technical Education Frameworks. It not anticipated that the work will involve meetings. The work will consist of going to a website, selecting the applicable Framework, and then going over each standard and rating it for three characteristics: importance, frequency, and criticality (all of which will be defined on the website). This work should take less than an hour.
Teachers and program advisory committee members may have done similar work before with a prior assessment contractor; however, this work must be done by each contractor to ensure that the process by which the assessments are developed is valid.
If you are willing to participate in this work, please do the following:
1. Prepare an email message. In the Subject line, place the name of the Framework you wish to review (Health Assisting, Automotive Technology, etc.). The message area should be left blank.
2. Send the message to COP@doe.mass.edu by March 2, 2009.
You will be sent a message acknowledging that the email was received. The Student Assessment Services Unit will forward your information to the current contractor Castle Worldwide, which will contact you in early March.
