Vocational Technical Competency Tracking System (VTCTS) Updates
VCTCS AUTOMATIC UPDATE IN SIMS - Posted June 22, 2009 In order to assist administrators in creating rosters and student sets in VTCTS at the beginning of the 2009–2010 school year, the Department will automatically populate the system with June SIMS data that have been adjusted to "promote" students over the summer. This means that students currently in grades 9–11 will appear as students in grades 10–12 in VTCTS when administrators go into the system when school opens again. While most data will be accurate, some will need to be further adjusted due to changes in student enrollment that will occur between June and September. VTCTS administrators should remember to make any changes necessary in data for students who have: • newly enrolled in the school • left the school • not been promoted to the next grade ONLINE TRAINING MATERIALS - Posted March 2009 The Department is pleased to inform users of the Vocational Technical Competency Tracking System (VTCTS) that a new link to online training materials, (Training Documentation and Videos) has been created on the VTCTS home page. The training materials now available online include: 1. Quick Start Guide for Administrators and Quick Start Guide for Teachers 2. The first of five Training Manuals, Creating Rosters for Teachers and Students 3. Two sample data files for uploading data 4. The first four of eight training videos covering a) Competency Tracking b) Project Planning c) Reports for Teachers d) Creating Student Rosters It is expected that the remaining manuals and videos will be posted this spring. Please check the site on a regular basis for these materials. For additional information, contact Dr. Paulette Watson in the Student Assessment Services unit at 781-338-3620 or pwatson@doe.mass.edu.
