The purpose of the 21st Century Community Learning Centers Program High School Innovation Grant is to develop creative and innovative extended learning opportunities for high school students that will help to address high school, college, and workforce readiness and success.
21st CCLC programs provide participating students with the opportunity to deepen their learning and gain a greater understanding of content areas by embedding academics into rich and engaging activities.
The Department is required to give priority to applications for programs that will serve a high percentage of students from low-income families. Applications must be submitted jointly by a school district and community-based organization or other public or private entity. All programming must occur outside of the traditional school day hours.
