Recruitment of Candidates for the Massachusetts Board of Elementary and Secondary Education Vocational Technical Education Advisory Council

The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is seeking candidates to serve on the Massachusetts Board of Elementary and Secondary Education Vocational Technical Education Advisory Council. The council meets four times a year. Members are appointed by the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education for a term of three years and serve without compensation. Persons currently employed in business and industry in the following fields are encouraged to apply: arts and communication services; early education and care; engineering; hospitality and tourism; information technology; and transportation. A special invitation is extended to individuals in nontraditional by gender fields, as well as racial and ethnic minorities, individuals with disabilities, individuals with limited English proficiency, single parents including single pregnant women, and displaced homemakers currently employed in business and industry in the cited fields. Nominations will be accepted through June 30, 2010, and recommendations will be made to the Board in September. Interested parties should submit two copies of a letter of intent along with two resumes to Commissioner of Elementary and Secondary Education Mitchell D. Chester, Ed.D. at the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, 75 Pleasant Street, Malden, MA 02148-54906, (attention: Advisory Councils).
