Counseling Task Force – Seeking Members

Counseling Task Force

Adult and Community Learning Services is convening a Task Force on Counseling in ABE to be facilitated by consultant Martha Oesch. The goals of the Counseling Task Force are the following:

to review the goals of counseling in ABE/ESOL programs
to discuss the needs of students for counseling services in an environment where college and career readiness and increasing academic rigor have become critically important to our system, and most importantly, to our students' future success
to make policy recommendations on how counseling should be offered in our programs in the future.

This short-term Task Force will include four 3-hour meetings at Quinsigamond Community College from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the following dates: March 18th, March 25th, April 8th, and April 29th. Your ability to participate in all four meetings is important so that a range of issues can be considered, and recommendations to ACLS will have been fully understood and discussed. Stipends are available for participants; 12-13 participants are needed from diverse program types and serving diverse student populations.
