Mandatory 2013 Summer Food Service Program Training- NEW SPONSORS AND NEW STAFF FROM RETURNING SPONSORS

The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (ESE), Office for Nutrition, Health and Safety Programs will offer a training for Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) FY 2013 new sponsoring agencies. Training will be centrally located and is designed for new sponsors and/or new staff from returning sponsors. United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) requires that program administrators and/or key staff attend this session. Non-attendance at the required session may delay SFSP approval and/or participation in the FY 2013 Summer Food Service Program. Training will review management and administrative responsibilities required by USDA.
New summer sponsors and new staff from returning sponsors will receive in depth information on all program and regulatory aspects of SFSP to include: USDA definitions and descriptions, administrative and oversight responsibilities, staff training, monitoring, menu planning and processing online application and claims.
The 2013 SFSP application for new sponsors will be completed via a paper application process. All SFSP claims will be processed electronically in the online security portal. Access to the security portal, which includes claims processing and the Online Document and Reference Library, will require a User Name and Password. At the training, new sponsors will receive information on how to obtain this access. Please remember to check our website www.doe.mass.edu/cnp for current information and updates.

We are not able to provide coffee or food at this training. There will be food and beverages available for purchase, either in the facility or nearby.
Temperature conditions are beyond our control. Please come prepared with a light sweater or jacket if necessary.
