ACCUPLACER Training Webinars

September 12, 2013 Dear Program Directors, As announced last spring, the ACCUPLACER test is now available to Community Adult Learning Centers for free. ACLS is offering this service to support programs ability to measure students' college readiness. ACCUPLACER provides placement tests which deliver scores used by community colleges. It also contains Diagnostic versions of most tests which provide in-depth analysis of individual and class performance which can, in turn, be used to drive instruction and intervention. The Placement tests include:
  • Reading Comprehension*
  • Sentence Skills*
  • Arithmetic*
  • Elementary Algebra*
  • College Level Math
*Has a Diagnostic version ACCUPLACER Guide for Community Adult Learning Centers. It gives a brief overview of why and who to give the tests to and links to the ACCUPLACER website. All ACCUPLACER tests are on the computer. Before using the ACCUPLACER with students all interested programs must take the training webinars with Keith Henry of the College Board. Below are descriptions of these session: Session 1 - ACCUPLACER Overview: This session is to provide an overview of the ACCUPLACER platform including how it is used by colleges for placement, the various tests available (Placement vs. Diagnostic), a quick look at the proctoring and testing process, and resources for student preparation (Sample Questions, Study App, and MyFoundationsLab). [This is the same content that was presented at the workshop at the Directors Meeting in March, 2013.] Session to be 1 hour. Suggested only for those new to ACCUPLACER or those who did not attend the session in Marlborough. September 17th: 3:30-4:30p.m. or September, 19th: 9:30-10:30a.m. Session 2 - ACCUPLACER Operations: This session covers the specifics of setting up an ACCUPLACER account including user creation, use of various testing options, and creation of branching profiles and placement rules. Session to be 1.5 hours. September 23rd: 9:30-11:00a.m. or 3:30-5:00p.m. Session 3 - ACCUPLACER Reporting: This session reviews the various types of data and reports. Session to be 1 hour.
