Upcoming Adult Career Pathways Training! RegisterToday! (Agenda) The Adult Career Pathways Training and Support Center (ACP-SC) is providing a Designing Instruction for Career Pathways training near you! Join us on May 6th or May 7th for a one-day training at Hilton Garden – Worcester, MA. Registration is free and can be completed online at the following URL: https://events.r20.constantcontact.com/register/eventReg?oeidk=a07e76m79xt12e6c0f6&oseq=&c=&ch= Designing Instruction for Career Pathways Training Description Supported by the U.S. Departments of Education, Health and Human Services, and Labor, the field of adult education is moving toward the Adult Career Pathways model to enable lower-skilled adults to progress on a career pathway and prepare for postsecondary success at a more rapid pace. What does this model look like in practice within the classroom? The Designing Instruction for Career Pathways training will guide participants through the principles of contextual teaching and learning and how to develop contextualized lesson plans and curriculum that fit along a career pathway. This one day training for instructors teaches participants how to use the instructional resources in the Adult Career Pathways Training and Support Center (ACP-SC) to develop a contextualized curriculum for a program within a career pathway. Training participants will walk away with (1) a deep familiarity of the rich content of the resources available in the ACP-SC and (2) tools for developing their own lessons for ABE/ESL learners with career-specific content. Following the in-person training, participants will have the opportunity to continue their learning and sharing in the ACP-SC online community. The Designing Instruction for Career Pathways training is produced by Kratos Learning, in partnership with the Center for Occupational Research and Development, with funding from the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Vocational and Adult Education. For more information, visit the ACP-SC at www.acp-sc.org. Participants should bring appropriate standards and benchmarks aligned to their lesson plans for use in the workshop.
