Notice of Public Comment on the Massachusetts Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Part B Annual State Application

The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (Department) is soliciting public comment on the State Application for IDEA Part B funds for the Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2024 (State Fiscal Year 2025).

We will retain the information on our website for 60 calendar days beginning on March 22, 2024. We solicit and accept public comment for the first 30 calendar days of this posting.

Comments on the proposed application may be submitted by email to specialeducation@doe.mass.edu with the subject line: IDEA Annual State Application or they may be mailed to:

The deadline for the submission of public comment is Monday, April 22, 2024*.

Annual State Application for IDEA Part B Funds:

*As of this posting, the U.S. Department of Education Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) has not provided DESE with the Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2024 Allocation Table information and therefore this posting contains the Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2023 allocation information. When the Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2024 Allocation Table information becomes available, this posting will be updated. The public participation timeline will not be restarted, and the deadline for submission of public comment will remain Monday, April 22, 2024.
