MA DESE Public Announcement on the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP)

The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (MA DESE) announces the availability the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). The SFSP is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and nutritious meals will be provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service. Meals will be provided, at a first come, first serve basis, at the sites and times as available in the following online resource: https://meals4kids.org/summer

There are over 1,400 SFSP feeding sites in Massachusetts that participate in the SFSP through over 112 locally sponsored programs and provide nutritious meals and snacks to infants, children, and teens daily.

SFSP sponsors are reimbursed for each meal served according to predetermined USDA reimbursement rates based on the income levels of the families served by the program. The following chart containing income guidelines will be used to determine funding in Massachusetts from July 1, 2021, to June 30, 2022.

To file a program complaint of discrimination, complete the USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form Download PDF Document, (AD-3027) found online at: How to File a Complaint, and at any USDA office, or write a letter addressed to USDA and provide in the letter all of the information requested in the form.
