Early childhood professionals (PreK–Grade 3) are invited to register for two different asynchronous courses, using the Blackboard learning platform. Registration is limited to 20 per class offered. Questions may be directed to Jane Haltiwanger. Schools or districts interested in having either course presented in-person please contact Jane Haltiwanger.
An Introductory Course on the Massachusetts Standards for Preschool and Kindergarten Social and Emotional Learning and Approaches to Play and Learning (10 hrs., offered three times).
This course allows participants to earn 10 professional development points (PDPs) or 1 continuing education unit (CEU). To register, email course facilitator who is leading the dates you prefer:
September 13 — October 17, 2021 with Caroline Blackman or
September 20 — October 23, 2021 with Dotti McDevitt or
November 8 — December 12, 2021 with Caroline Blackman
Family Engagement in Social Emotional Learning (4 hrs., offered three times).
This course is also aligned with the SEL/APL standards, and includes materials that can be used for conducting a Family workshop, (Learning to Play, Playing to Learn) with the materials available in five languages: Brazilian Portuguese, Chinese, English, Haitian Creole and Spanish.
