Special Education

The Department in collaboration with state agencies that provide adult services to individuals with disabilities who reached age 22 between March 10, 2020, and September 1, 2023.

The Commonwealth has allocated 10 million dollars for transition "services for individuals with disabilities that reached age 22 between March 10, 2020 and September 1, 2023 and were entitled to special education services up to age 22." The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is pleased to announce that we are currently collaborating with state agencies that provide adult services to qualifying individuals with disabilities to expand their current services to include additional supports and services for a limited period of time. You can find more information for young adults and their parents, caregivers, and/or guardians about these services at: Transition Support - Federation for Children with Special Needs (fcsn.org)
