Brief Description of Services
Jen Hogan is a Curriculum Coordinator and reading specialist who specializes in providing research-based professional development and consultation to improve literacy practices in schools around the greater New England area. Her workshops range from a few hours to a few days, and cover comprehensive research about how the brain learns to read and what it means for learning to read in the classroom, including for our diverse learners. A former teacher herself, her trainings are meaningful, engaging, and leave teachers and leaders with action steps to take to improve literacy outcomes for all students. Jen also consults with school, district, and state leadership teams to redesign school systems and operations that function as catalysts for literacy achievement. She specializes in the following: the science of reading, designing a multi-tiered system of support, diverse learners, systems for success, curriculum adoption and literacy planning. She speaks on such topics to school boards, administrators, and teachers around the country and has appeared in many webinars and podcasts that discuss literacy. She is a founding member of the Massachusetts chapter of The Reading League and holds a Masters of Education in Literacy and an Ed.S in School Administration and Leadership.
