Brief Description of Services
Lindamood-Bell is recognized as an industry leader in effective literacy programs for students of all ages. Since 1986, Lindamood-Bell has worked with schools, educators, and students to implement programs that develop or remediate literacy skills. We are the only provider to offer sensory- cognitive instruction as a basis for developing phonemic awareness, phonics, orthographic awareness, word reading skills, fluency, and reading comprehension. Our unique methodology focuses on the imagery-language foundation underlying literacy, and has been research-validated and shown to be a critical missing component in literacy instruction, especially for at- risk students and students with disabilities. Our school partnerships with schools have succeeded in closing the achievement gap for students in special education by providing explicit and systematic instruction in this methodology.
