Brief Description of Services
We work with administrators and teachers to develop school-wide and district-wide approaches to implementing executive function strategy instruction that meets the needs of students across grades, content areas, and in every type of classroom. This involves a research-based, expert-led professional development for educators, focused on the five core areas of executive function: cognitive flexibility, goal setting, organization and prioritization, working memory, and self-monitoring. Educators gain practical strategies they can apply immediately to support student success, promote independence in learning, and boost self-confidence in the classroom. Specifically, our program enables administrators and teachers to support their students by: -Understanding the crucial role executive function processes play in successful learning. -Exploring how executive function challenges interfere with students’ performance on daily tasks (e.g., organizing time, organizing materials, reading for meaning, writing). -Learning hands-on strategies to use across grade levels and content areas. Helping students develop executive function strategies – goal-setting, cognitive flexibility, organizing and prioritizing, memorizing, and self-checking and monitoring – can be the difference between success and failure, in school and life.
