This information is provided to assist local school districts, schools and communities in understanding the School-Based Medicaid Program (SBMP). The SBMP allows Local Education Agencies (LEAs) to receive federal dollars that offset costs for providing Medicaid-covered services delivered in school settings by LEA-employed health providers. The LEA's that participate contract with MassHealth (the Massachusetts Medicaid and Children's Health Insurance Programs).
For more detailed SBMP information, including program guidance, covered services & qualified providers, and announcements are posted on the MassHealth SBMP website .
