Teaching in a Turnaround School

Challenging students. Challenging yourself.

All schools in Massachusetts are assessed by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and assigned a level (1 through 5) according to their achievement based on statewide testing. Level 4 and 5 Turnaround schools are among the neediest schools in the state. An Act Relative to the Achievement Gap, signed into law in January 2010, makes it possible to identify, quickly intervene, and remedy ongoing achievement gaps.

Teaching in a Turnaround School is its own reward. As a Turnaround School teacher, the challenges are many and the rewards are amazing. You will mentor, encourage, inspire, support, and nurture. You will open minds and stir imaginations. Your students will inspire you as they discover the joy of learning and achievement.
