High School Equivalency (HSE) Testing Program

Massachusetts Official HSE Test Centers

Most testing sites have reopened and are now available to test following strict safety guidelines. This includes mask requirements and reduced capacity to ensure social distancing. In order to find test sites open near you and schedule a test at an official test center, please visit the vendor websites www.GED.com; www.hiset.ets.org.

Additionally, GED^® and HiSET^® offer a remote (at home) proctored testing option to Massachusetts candidates. To schedule an exam at home, visit the vendor websites: Introducing the Official Online GED Test - GED; HiSET Exam at Home.

Below is a complete list of the High School Equivalency Test Centers in Massachusetts. The Commonwealth offers several different options for high school equivalency testing:

Either the GED^® test or the HiSET^®
Testing on computer or with paper and pencil
Testing in English or in Spanish

However, not every test center offers all testing options. Please refer to the abbreviations in the Key below when reviewing the Test Center List for testing options.

Spanish Testing

Candidates may take any GED^® or HiSET^® subtest in English or Spanish. English and Spanish scores may be combined toward High School Equivalency credential attainment.

All credentials will be printed in English. Transcripts will be printed in English and document test vendor (GED^® or HiSET^®) subtest taken, subtest score, subtest form, and subtest language.

Candidates who received a Spanish credential after 2001 may request a credential in English by contacting the DESE/ACLS HSE team in writing at HSET@mass.gov .

Tests Sites below marked "SP" will have Spanish-speaking staff available to administer the test.
