Signed into law by Governor Baker on December 2, 2021, Chapter 98 of the Acts of 2021 , An act concerning genocide education, requires all middle and high schools to provide instruction in the history and patterns of genocide. LEAs may integrate genocide education across a variety of subjects such as history, civics, and English Language Arts. Instruction should be aligned to the standards included in the 2018 History and Social Science Curriculum Framework but may extend beyond the histories of specific genocides referenced in that document.
