Mr. Byrd
I'am an amazing educator at: Barnstable Public Schools
Why I Educate: I teach because there are many people to teach for. I teach for the students who have never had a male or African American teacher. I teach for the students that are believed to have behavioral issues but actually just need someone to relate to them.
Ms. Wheaton
I'am an amazing educator at: Revere Public Schools
Why I Educate: As a Speech-Language Pathologist, I have an amazing opportunity every day to give students a voice, help them communicate their ideas clearly, and be better understood at school.
Mr. Pichardo
I'am an amazing educator at: Lawrence Public Schools
Why I Educate: My 8th grade teacher would allow me to teach my peers. From then on I knew that I wanted to become a teacher. Today I love to do the same with my students, and inspire them to be more!
Ms. Horne
I'am an amazing educator at: Randolph Public Schools
Why I Educate: I understand the power of relationship building and connecting with youth personally in order to reach them academically. Kids will invest more when they feel like they are being invested in.
Mr. Ferguson
Why I Educate: While it is impossible to measure the exact impact that I've had on my students, when I see them grow beyond their former limitations, socially and academically, I know that I was a part of that growth, and that makes me happy.
