Center for School and District Partnership Professional Learning Portfolio SY 2023-24

Introduction

The Center for School and District Partnership (CSDP) is pleased to offer a variety of professional learning opportunities to support school and district improvement efforts in the 2023-2024 school year. Each of these opportunities advances educational equity and is being offered at no cost to participating teams. They are organized around the three categories below, although some offerings may address more than one priority.

Whole Child Supports: Cultivate systems to support that whole child and foster joyful, healthy, and supportive learning environments so that all students feel valued and connected.
Grade-Appropriate Instruction: Promote deeper learning so that all students engage in grade-level work that is real-world, relevant, and interactive.
Diverse and Well-Prepared Workforce: Develop and sustain a diverse, culturally responsive, and well-prepared workforce so that all students have equitable access to effective educators.

This page will be updated regularly as new offerings become available. Please note that this list does not include non-voluntary supports provided by CSDP (e.g., regional assistance from the Statewide System of Support, Tiered Focus Monitoring from the Office of Language Acquisition, etc.)

What should be considered before submitting an application?

Prior to applying for an offering, districts/schools should consider:

Their priorities for the 2023-2024 school year
Their team's specific needs and bandwidth
What partnerships and programs they already have in place
The content, duration, structure, and commitments for participation

How many offerings can one school/district apply for?

We recommend participating in one intensive offering, but after a thoughtful planning process, districts may identify and apply for more than one that are well-positioned to support their priorities.
We also encourage districts to consider the partners and programs available outside of CSDP and DESE while planning and identifying the most aligned supports for the school year.

How should this portfolio be explored?

Use the links in the chart to explore available offerings within each priority area, including stated goals and outcomes, as well as participation commitments for each offering.

How does a school/district apply for an offering?

The application link to each available offering is located in the right hand column of the chart. For offerings not yet open, the application link will be added to the chart when available.

What kinds of teams should participate?

The majority of these offerings are designed for district-level and/or school-level participating teams. However, there are a couple of offerings included here that accept participants on an individual basis.
Each offering overview, in the chart, specifies the participant level requirements.

What is the deadline to apply?

Applications submitted by 4/28/2023 will receive a response from the Department in May.

Applications submitted between 4/29/2023 and 5/26/2023 will receive a status response from the Department in June.

Applications will remain open throughout the summer, until offerings are full.

Please know that while any Massachusetts district is able to apply for the offerings in this portfolio, priority will be given to districts identified as requiring assistance by the state's accountability system. Additional selection priorities or criteria are noted in each offering's description.

What are the progress monitoring and evaluation requirements when participating in a CSDP offering?

As participants in one or more of these offerings, district and school teams agree to participate in any ongoing evaluation and improvement efforts. The following is a list of example school- and district-level data that may be shared between partners, DESE, and/or potential third party evaluators.

Participation Data (e.g., attendance in trainings, technical assistance sessions, etc.)
Implementation Data (i.e., measures of implementation fidelity that could be reported by the school/district teams, by the offering provider, or through observations and surveys, etc.)
School and District Outcome Data (e.g., suspension data, school climate data, attendance data, office discipline referrals, MCAS scores, etc.)
