Massachusetts 21^st Century Community Learning Centers (21^st CCLC) Grants

The Department is happy to announce the FC647 21CCLC RFP for new sites will be posted soon on the grants management web page.

The Department will host a 21^st CCLC Supporting Additional Learning Time (SALT) Grant Informational Webinar on Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM to walk interested applicants through the RFP and respond to questions. You must register for 21CCLC Information Session to receive the Zoom link. You may register up to the day of the information session.

A Department Notification of Intent to Apply is due Friday, October 2, 2026. Submission of an intent to apply does not obligate the entity to submit a proposal.

Please Note:

Due to the competitive nature of this grant program, all questions about the Funding Opportunity documents and process will be addressed during the Grant Information Webinar and four (4) Q & A sessions that will be hosted on Tuesday, October 6^th; Thursday, October 8^th; Tuesday, October 13^th; and Thursday, October 15^th all from 10:00 – 10:30 AM. You must register for 21CCLC SALT Grant Q & A Session to receive a Zoom link. You may register at any time. Attendees only need to register once and can choose one or more Q&A sessions to attend.

• All FY2025 Grant Funded Sites — This list includes sites with awards from FC 647 (new site grants), FC 646 (exemplary programs grants), and FC 645 (continuation grants), and notes the funding amounts and cycles.

FC 645 (Continuation Funds): FY2026 | FY2025

• All grantees receiving continuation funds in the given fiscal year are listed. The amount for each grantee may include multiple 21^st Century Community Learning CentersCCLC grants.

• The purpose of the federally funded 21^st Century Community Learning Centers (21^st CCLC) Continuation Grant is to continue to support funded 21^st Century Community Learning CentersCCLC grantees to implement academically enriching programming that contributes to deepening student learning during the school year and summer. The FY2026 eligible entities are grantees with sites originally awarded under FC 647 in Fiscal Years (FY) 2023, 2024 and/or 2025 and/or FC 646 in FY2024 and/or 2025.

FC 647 (Supporting Additional Learning Time (SALT) Grant for New Sites — Competitive): FY2025 | FY2024 | FY2023 (Please note that no Supporting Additional Learning TimeSALT competition was held in FY2026.)

• These are listed by the initial year of the grantee's award, with each recent grantee being eligible for up to four additional years through continuation funds.

• The purpose of this federally funded competitive grant program is to support the implementation of academically enriching programming during Out-of-School Time (OST) (school year and summer) that increases student engagement, deepens student learning, and contributes to a well-rounded education. Eligible applicants are:

  • public school districts, public charter schools, cities and towns with > (at least) 15 percent of students who are Low Income (LI) as indicated at the Department's School and District Profiles page

    and/or

  • Community-based organizations (CBOs), other public or private entities, or a consortium of two (2) or more of such agencies, organizations, or entities have a demonstrated partnership with a school(s) with ≥ 15 percent of students who are Low IncomeLI, as indicated at the School and District Profiles page or through other research based quantitative data evidence.

FC 646 (Exemplary Programs — Competitive): FY2026

• The purpose of this competitive Exemplary Grant Program is to support a network of high quality 21^st Century Community Learning Center programs (21^st CCLC) that are able to identify exemplary practices and demonstrate the ability to serve as models, mentors, and resources on those practices. Eligible entities for the FY2026 Exemplary Grant Program are sites that received a Fiscal Year (FY) 2023 Fund Code (FC) 646 grant as well as corresponding continuation grants, and have met all grant and eligibility requirements.
